1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you book a call or send a message, we collect what you enter: name, email address, phone number, contact preference, your topic, and the planning preferences you choose to record. We do not request and will not accept discharge documents (such as a DD-214), Social Security numbers, or financial account numbers through this website.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we receive technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring page. Our hosting provider may record this information in aggregate usage statistics. See the cookies section below.
2. How we use information
- To send information you requested and to schedule and hold the consultation you asked for.
- To send educational information about planning, from which you may unsubscribe at any time.
- To operate, secure and improve this website.
- To comply with law, including insurance and consumer-protection requirements.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we share information
- Licensed professionals who serve you. If you ask about pre-need funeral funding, your inquiry is shared with the licensed agent named in the licensee notice on this site.
- Insurance carriers and funeral providers, only when you decide to proceed with a plan and to the extent needed to place it.
- Service providers that host this site, deliver email and text messages, or schedule calls, under contracts limiting their use of your data.
- Legal requirements, such as a subpoena, regulatory request, or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers, if Oake & Honor is reorganised or acquired, with notice to you.
4. Your choices and opt-out
You may opt out of marketing email by using the unsubscribe link in any message, opt out of text messages by replying STOP, and opt out of calls by telling us or through our contact form. We honour opt-out requests promptly and keep a record of them so they stay in force.
5. Data retention
We keep inquiry and planning records while you have an active relationship with us and afterwards for as long as our recordkeeping obligations require, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or law requires a longer period (insurance records are subject to state retention rules). Opt-out records are kept as long as needed to honour them.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
7. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
